A new study has revealed that around 42% of U.S. millennials have purchased something through crypto. Coupon Follow has uncovered the latest trends and compiled them in Millennial Shopping Habits: Trend Report 2025.
The study also notes that 8% of the study participants use it anytime, and 14% use it occasionally. Around 20% or one-fifth of the participants make rare use of cryptocurrency while shopping.
And, 11% of them are in the rarest category. The study of Coupon Follow shows that the millennials hailing from the United States are open to new and emerging financial technologies.
Back in 2021, a survey was conducted by Bankrate that revealed around 50% of millennials in the US were very comfortable investing in crypto assets. In that same study, 12% of the millennials saw Bitcoin as the best investment option and said that they won’t need it for at least a decade.
Integration of AI in Online Shopping
Now, in 2025, around 93% of the millennials are aware of this emerging technology, and some of them use it for their day-to-day purchases. The Coupon Follow data also reveals that out of 1,185 millennials that were surveyed, 4% have made over 10 purchases using crypto in the span of one year.
Above that, 15% of the participants used crypto six to ten times in a purchase in that same span. And, 45% of them did two to five purchases. The percentage of participants who hadn’t used crypto for purchases stood at 20%.
Not only cryptocurrency, but the US millennials are also open to another emerging technology, Artificial Intelligence (AI) during their online shopping. Around 54% of the participants of the study have plans to use AI in the upcoming year.
Also, the data from the study reveals that 60% of men and around 50% of women are planning to integrate AI during their online shopping.
