Next God of War Game to Explore Egyptian Mythology: What to Expect

If this rumor is true, there’s a huge scope for the developer team to open new paths for Kratos. The Egyptian mythology has uncountable unsolved mysteries, which will make Kratos’ journey more interesting. If the franchise really shifts to Egypt, the first thing players can expect to see is a well-made presentation of ancient Egypt. Generally, God of War games impress players with visuals. The next installment won’t be an exception.

The next thing that will be exciting for the GoW fans is the representation of Egyptian gods.  Egyptian mythology is full of different kinds of gods and mysterious creatures. Santa Monica Studios probably won’t let go of this opportunity. Therefore, during the gameplay, multiple of them will come to encounter Kratos face-to-face in a fight. Expectedly, Anubis, Osiris, Thoth, Isis, Pakhet, etc., will be featured, either as allies or as enemies to Kratos.

Well, there’s another potent possibility that the next GoW game may explore: Atreus becoming the main character. In the previous games, Kratos used to be the main protagonist, with players sometimes switching to Atreus during fights or explorations.

However, if one remembers, in the final scene of God of War Ragnarök, Kratos and Atreus part ways as the son sets off on his adventure to find the Giants. Maybe this search will direct him to Egypt and let him encounter the brutal gods alone without his father’s help.

At this point, there’s no news of any God of War game. Therefore, all these are just assumptions that players have been making based on some rumors.
