TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A customer at a North Tampa convenience store was killed Monday night after being shot by an employee, according to police.

“I’ve been living here for eight years now, and this is the first time I’ve seen a crime like this,” Christopher Rosario said. “I don’t know what happened.”
Police found a man with a gunshot wound when they arrived at the scene. He was taken to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries, according to the police department.
“Nothing really surprises you around here anymore,” said Glenn McCall, a nearby business owner. “You just have to watch what you’re doing in certain areas and this is one of them.”
Investigators say the shooting started after an argument between the store clerk and the customer turned violent and deadly.
“Everybody’s on edge,” McCall said. “It is what it is.”
Officials have not shared details about who was involved or if any charges will be filed.
The employee is cooperating with the investigation, and police said there is no ongoing threat to the public.
The case remains under investigation.
