Here’s Why Dogecoin (DOGE) is Quietly Gearing Up for a Major Price Rally – CryptoMode
Dogecoin (DOGE) might be preparing for a stealth rally, and the signs are stacking up fast. From quiet whale accumulation to growing ETF speculation, the original memecoin is showing technical and on-chain signals that traders shouldn’t ignore.
Kamran Asghar’s tweet this week may have said it best: “This isn’t just a breakout, it’s a signal.”
Dogecoin Whales Stack Over 100M DOGE While Retail Sleeps
As CryptoMode reported, on-chain data confirms that Dogecoin whales have been loading up. According to Santiment, more than 100 million DOGE, worth over $17 million, were added to whale wallets in the final two weeks of April.
Wallets holding over 10 billion DOGE grew their holdings from 10.42B to 10.55B, all while the broader market stayed distracted by newer meme coins.
What’s most telling? Elon Musk tweets, Doge Day hype, or viral memes didn’t accompany this accumulation. Instead, it’s been quiet and strategic, hinting at positioning ahead of potential catalysts.
Despite dipping 1.4% in the last 24 hours, Dogecoin is still trading at $0.173, showing resilience after rallying over 21% from April lows around $0.145.

The daily chart shows price holding above its 50-day SMA ($0.1691) while consolidating just beneath the 21-day EMA ($0.1722). RSI currently sits around 55, indicating rising momentum without overbought pressure.
The bullish divergence in RSI, pointed out by Asghar, mirrors setups seen ahead of major runs in late 2023 and early 2024. If Dogecoin reclaims the $0.172 level, it could open the door to a retest of $0.18 and then $0.20, with the 200-day SMA up at $0.257 as the next macro target.
Fueling the recent price surge is growing chatter around a Dogecoin spot ETF. 21Shares recently filed a Form S-1 with the SEC for a physically backed DOGE ETF, to be co-marketed with House of Doge.
This marks the first serious attempt to bring a meme coin to U.S. ETFs—a development that could dramatically expand DOGE’s reach into traditional finance.
