Man missing for about a week in Linda Vista has died, family says

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — A 79-year-old man who was reported missing last week in the Linda Vista neighborhood of San Diego has died, his family and police confirmed.
Quang Diep was reported missing on Wednesday, June 18. Flyers were posted around the community, telling people to be on the lookout for him and, if spotted, to report his whereabouts to police.
On Wednesday, the San Diego Police Department told FOX 5/KUSI Diep was found deceased along State Route 163 on Tuesday. No other details about his death were immediately available.
His son, Kane Diep, made a post on social media, confirming that his father had passed away.
“Thank you to everyone who’ve helped search for my dad Quang Diep. We’ve received heartbreaking news that he has passed away,” Kane posted in an Instagram story. “We’re deeply grateful for the support and care from our communities. We wanted to let you know so you can stop searching.”
According to the San Diego Police Department, the elder Diep was last seen walking away from a home on the 7400 block of North Judson St. around 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 18.
He was considered at risk due to medical concerns, police said at the time.
