protagonista blockchain nei primi tre mesi di Mainnet
From the moment it fired up the engines in January 2025, Soneium showed the entire world what happens when technological innovation meets an inclusive and cultural vision, particularly after the launch of the Mainnet.
Born from the collaboration between Sony Group Corporation and Startale Group Pte. Ltd., through the laboratory Sony Block Solutions Labs, the new layer-2 on Ethereum has experienced a meteoric rise.
Specifically marking milestones that would seem unlikely for such a young reality. But in just three months, Soneium has already become a heavyweight player in the blockchain ecosystem.
An exciting start for the Mainnet of Soneium
The Mainnet of Soneium was officially launched on January 14, 2025, crowning months of technical developments, experiments, and feedback obtained through the Soneium Minato testnet.
This preliminary test recorded over 47 million transactions and involved more than 14 million active wallets, demonstrating a great market appetite for tools increasingly oriented towards creators.
After the official launch, over 200 projects have come to life on the network, and in about 90 days there are:
- – more than 834,000 smart contracts deployed,
- – over 5.1 million unique addresses,
- – over 89 million transactions recorded,
- – a Total Value Secured (TVS) of over 130 million dollars.
Results that demonstrate not only a solid technical capability, but also a strong trust from the global community of developers and users.
One of the pillars of Soneium’s rapid rise has been a well-structured and dynamic community engagement strategy.
At the center of this strategy, the initiative of 100 million ASTR tokens, designed to concretely reward the commitment of the users.
A fundamental part is represented by the Astar Contribution Score (ACS), a score that evaluates on-chain activity such as the use of dApps, participation in governance, and support for the network.
This system has encouraged tens of thousands of participants to actively contribute to the growth of the ecosystem, creating a virtuous circle of loyalty and sustainable development.
At the same time, the Soneium Conquest campaign was launched on Galxe, aimed at engaging new users through interactive experiences and tasks for builders.
The numbers speak clearly: over 25 new dApps developed and more than 200,000 new users acquired in just one month.
Soneium has also introduced an innovative badge system to recognize and reward the early supporters and the most active figures in the community, increasing engagement and creating a sense of belonging.
Strategic Collaborations: culture and innovation on the blockchain
The first quarter of activity was not only focused on technical adoption, but also strengthened its identity thanks to a series of cultural partnerships of great impact.
Among the most significant operations, the integration of Soneium into LINE Mini App stands out, a strategic move aimed at breaking down technological barriers for millions of users of the popular messaging service.
This allows access to blockchain features directly from a familiar interface, democratizing access to the onchain universe.
In the meantime, OpenSea, the leading NFT platform, made its debut on Soneium with the YOAKE series, a project inspired by the “The Seven Deadly Sins” franchise, which totaled over 11,000 participants and 16,600 NFT minted.
The world of music has also found space on Soneium, with the NUU$HI and ROHKI collections launched by Sonova in partnership with Coop Records, led by Cooper Turley. A synergy capable of combining digital innovation and artistic creativity.
Noteworthy is also the mint of SBT linked to aibo, the iconic Sony-branded robot dog: with over 40 million SBT issued in more than 130,000 wallets, the operation demonstrated the full potential of integrating traditional IP into blockchain experiences.
Finally, the collaboration with S.BLOX led to the creation of the official NFTs of “Ghost in the Shell”, a project that falls within Soneium’s goal of combining culture, innovation, and decentralization.
To shape a network that is truly creativity-driven, Soneium Spark was born. It is an incubation program designed to support projects in areas such as gaming, DeFi, and the creator economy.
Launched in 2024, Spark saw an initial selection of 32 teams out of 1700 applications, each benefiting from mentorship, strategic guidance, and funding up to 100,000 dollars.
Global Presence: Events and Connections
In the first quarter, Soneium strengthened its presence also on the events front. At Consensus Hong Kong, it participated in a parallel event to discuss the growing role of Japan in the Web3 world.
At ETH Denver, a party on web3 gaming was co-organized, while at GDC San Francisco it was the protagonist of Gamers Unite. In other words, an informal evening that involved developers, investors, and enthusiasts of the sector.
Events that have confirmed Soneium’s constant commitment to nurturing a global and visionary community.
The future looks bright for Soneium, which is already looking ahead with optimism and planning.
Great attention is being given to the upcoming Agent Hackathon, a creative marathon dedicated to AI, agentic intelligences, DeFi and creator economy. It promises to catalyze new generations of decentralized applications.
In the meantime, the team is ready to expand existing collaborations, create new ones, and implement technical improvements, educational workshops, and increasingly advanced development tools.
The first quarter since Soneium went online has highlighted a clear message. The new blockchain is not an experiment, but a concrete reality, innovative and with broad growth prospects.
In a constantly changing digital world, Soneium represents the vision of a more open, participatory, and emotional internet.
The journey has just begun, but already today, with a lively community, revolutionary projects, and a constantly evolving network, Soneium invites developers, artists, and visionaries to build together the future of decentralization.
