Active shooter reported at Michigan church with multiple victims

GENESEE COUNTY, MI – An active shooter was reported at a church Sunday morning, Sept. 28, in Grand Blanc Township, police said.

The incident happened at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 4285 McCandlish Road, according to the Grand Blanc Township Police Department.

There are multiple victims – it’s not clear how many – and the shooter is down, police said. The church is actively on fire.

There is no threat to the public, however, residents are advised to avoid the area.

A reunification site has been established for individuals on site, at the pavilion to the north of the church. Offsite reunification will be at Trillium movie theater at 8220 Trillium Circle Ave., according to police.
