Bay County Jail employee arrested after dropping meth bag in facility, Sheriff’s Office says
PANAMA CITY — An employee at the Bay County Jail was arrested after the Sheriff’s Office said he brought methamphetamine into the facility.
According to a release from the Bay County Sheriff’s Office, Daydrian Lipford dropped a baggie containing a white crystal substance as he was leaving the facility on July 8.
An arrest affidavit Lipford’s said that as he was approaching the checkpoint to leave, he reached into his pocket to get his keys, causing the baggie to fall out. The bag was found by a deputy and tested, confirming that it was 0.4 grams of meth.
The whole incident was captured on video, according to the affidavit.
Lipford returned for his shift on July 11 and was detained. According to the Sheriff’s Office, he told an officer that the baggie was his and that he had consumed some of the meth while in the facility.
Evidence points toward the meth being for personal use, the affidavit said. His car was searched and no additional narcotics were found.
