Binance Academy and University of Oulu Launch Free Blockchain Sustainability Course
- This collaboration expands on Binance Academy’s continuous efforts to make blockchain education accessible and useful for learners everywhere.
- Twelve modules totaling three and a half hours in length make up this self-paced, three-week curriculum.
In partnership with the University of Oulu in Finland, Binance Academy, the crypto learning hub if Binance, is introducing a brand-new online course called “Blockchain for Business Sustainability.” The goal of the course is to provide learners the information they need to comprehend how blockchain technology may promote environmentally conscious corporate operations.
The course was created in collaboration with Dr. Teck Ming (Terence) Tan, an adjunct professor at the University of Helsinki and associate professor of marketing at Oulu Business School. It addresses the increased interest in sustainability and looks at how blockchain might help people and businesses adopt more environmentally friendly business practices.
Professor Dr. Teck Ming (Terence) Tan stated:
“I am thrilled to collaborate with Binance Academy on the ‘Blockchain for Business Sustainability’ course. This partnership has allowed us to explore five key domains: supply chain management, circular economy, renewable energy, ESG reporting, and incentivization. We aim to clarify what blockchain can achieve and to understand how blockchain technology contributes to a sustainable future. It is an inspiring journey to partner with Binance Academy and share my knowledge about the transformative and decentralized role of blockchain technology in sustainable business practices.”
By supplying the learning platform, working together on content creation, and creating instructional materials, Binance Academy was instrumental in assisting with the creation of this course.
Binance Academy Team Lead, Stephen McAllister commented on the initiative:
“At Binance Academy, we believe education is key to driving blockchain adoption and empowering individuals to navigate the evolving digital economy. By partnering with the University of Oulu, we are making high-quality blockchain education more accessible and relevant to real-world challenges. This free course will help learners understand blockchain’s role in sustainability and use it to transform industries, making them more transparent, efficient, and environmentally responsible.”
The course covers important subjects including supply chain traceability and transparency, carbon trading and renewable energy, encouraging sustainable behavior, ESG/sustainability reporting, carbon credits, stakeholder capitalism, and ethical marketing in sharing economies based on blockchain.
The course is entirely free and offered in English. Twelve modules totaling three and a half hours in length make up this self-paced, three-week curriculum. Participants will get a co-branded certificate from Binance Academy and the University of Oulu upon completion of the quizzes, which will be given at the conclusion of each week to evaluate learning progress.
