Iconic Porsche Collection Inspired By Childhood Toy Set For Auction… With One Unique Condition

  • A childhood wooden toy truck inspired the collection of stunning Porsches.
  • Six pristine Porsche 911 GT3s with delivery-only mileage make up this unique ensemble.
  • Custom-built MAN TGX transport truck completes this real-life toy story.

Remember when we were kids and played with toy trucks carrying our favourite cars? Most of us never thought of that fantasy becoming a reality, but Austrian architect Alexander Serda has fulfilled his dream with his “Toys for Boys” Collection.

What started as a simple wooden toy truck carrying miniature Porsches has become one of the most unique collections in automotive history. It has six Porsche 911 GT3 models from the 991 series along with a specially commissioned transporter, which shows Serda’s extraordinary architectural abilities. Now, this impressive collection is set to be auctioned along with the transporter.

From Wooden Toys to Wheeled Treasures

“I have this toy. This wooden truck – a racing truck from Porsche. I just had the idea to make this as a grown-up toy,” Serda describes the simple inspiration behind his ambitious project, which took years to complete. Initially, the project was planned to have a grand debut at Goodwood in 2018, but due to time delays, the full fleet never made it to the festival.

So, for the past five years, these machines have been carefully stored in a climate-controlled facility and are resting on specialised tyre cushions with CTEK chargers to make sure that they remain factory-fresh.

The Ultimate Package

What makes this collection truly special is that each car is practically untouched. Among them is a 2016 Porsche 911 R which is one of only 991 ever built and shows fewer than 50 kilometers on the odometer. The collection also has a Guards Red 2018 GT3 Clubsport which has just 42 kilometres as well as an elegant black GT3 Touring with less than 20 kilometres.

The collection also includes some masterpieces such as the 2019 GT3 RS fitted which has the much sought-after Weissach package, is dripping in carbon fibre and has been engineered for pure performance. And for those with a fondness for the racetrack, the collection includes a GT3 Cup and an extremely rare GT3 Cup R, both having under 35 kilometres which is brand-new.

But Serda didn’t just stop at the cars. He also commissioned a custom MAN TGX 18.640 truck, paired with a Rolfo Auriga six-car trailer to transport these mechanical masterpieces. This 640-horsepower haulier has covered only 500 kilometres and is the most powerful vehicle in the fleet. It’s not just a transporter but also a guardian for the Porsche collection.

This once-in-a-lifetime collection is set to be offered as a single lot at RM Sotheby’s upcoming Munich auction. The auction details specify that splitting up the collection is not possible. Industry experts expect the collection to sell for a jaw-dropping amount due to its remarkable condition and unique composition. It’s not just a collection but a childhood dream materialized in carbon fibre and horsepower.
