Broadcasters were asked to censor the negative reaction to Donald Trump’s attendance at the men’s final of the US Open in Queens, New York, on Sunday. But there was no masking the awkwardness when Trump likely realized Bruce Springsteen was seated just a few feet away.
Springsteen, of course, has spent the past few months on tour in the UK and Europe, denouncing what he has called the “corrupt, incompetent, and treasonous” Trump administration. He also released an EP collecting songs he performed on tour as well as recordings of the speeches he made that provoked the ire of the president.
