Drone Footage | Local rivers approach near record levels

After repeated rounds of thunderstorms across the Ozarks, local rivers are starting to surge to near-record levels.

The Finley River below Riverdale rose from just 2 feet on Friday to a current level of 18.6 feet. A near 1000% increase. According to the USGS, this places the Finley River well within the moderate flooding category.

This is the highest the river has been since the all-time crest at 20.7 feet on April 30, 2017.

With more rainfall expected for Memorial Day, saturated ground and additional runoff will continue to push water levels upward. Low-lying areas and flood-prone zones near the river are already experiencing impacts, with some roads becoming impassable.

Take precautions as conditions may worsen. A much-needed break from the rain will arrive after the holiday weekend.
