A man who helped to barricade the doors of a synagogue during Thursday’s attack in Manchester has said he heard the attacker shout “this is what they get for killing our children”, before trying to get through the doors. Alan Levy was worshipping at Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation Synagogue in Crumpsall, Greater Manchester, when Jihad Al-Shamie, 35, drove into a group of people outside before attempting to enter the building.
