Rainfall rolls into Las Vegas, Henderson areas after flash flood warning issued
LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A flash flood warning was issued for Las Vegas until 8:45 p.m., bringing with it more than 1/2 an inch of rain and a swift water rescue Friday evening.
The warning brings the possibility of flash flooding, heavy rain, and 40+mph winds for Mountains Edge, Enterprise, Southern Highlands, and Spring Valley.
Another flash flood warning was issued for the Summerlin area until 9 p.m.
A water rescue effort took place near Flamingo and Paradise roads, leaving some lanes blocked off along Hard Rock Road shortly before 5 p.m., according to the RTC of Southern Nevada.

Earlier in the day, a Thunderstorm warning impacted the southwest portion of the valley near Mountain’s Edge with the possibility of 60 mph wind gusts and quarter-sized hail.
The warning impacted areas including Henderson, Southern Highlands, Anthem, Enterprise, Mountain’s Edge, Spring Valley, Paradise, Silverado Ranch, Sloan, Seven Hills, and Henderson Executive Airport.
Flooding along roadways in the east valley was spotted throughout the afternoon, including Boulder Highway and Lake Mead shortly before 5:30 p.m.
Residents in Henderson sent photos and video of the downpour on Friday afternoon as water began to pool up outside homes near Seven Hills.

A Flood Advisory is in effect until 5:45 p.m. for west central Clark County, including the areas of Goodsprings, Sandy Valley, and Jean.
Event cancellations
Due to severe weather, The Age of Chivalry Renaissance Festival closed Friday evening and was planned to reopen on Saturday at 10 a.m. Tickets that have yet to be redeemed for Friday will be valid for Saturday or Sunday, according to a festival spokesperson.
The Pride Parade in Las Vegas was also set to take place on Friday evening from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. however, the event was cancelled due to the weather as well. For other Pride events in Las Vegas over the weekend, click HERE.
