Garden State Parkway backed up 12 miles. Jersey Shore traffic watch

It’s the last weekend in May and the first weekend in June, and that can only mean one thing for the Jersey Shore: Traffic.

Friday evening traffic woes underway

At 4:18 p.m., there were reports of delays and pockets of heavy volume on the Garden State Parkway southbound. That was south of Exit 98 (Route 138) in Wall to south of Exit 83 (Route 9) in Toms River. Traffic was slow-moving for about 12 miles.

Heavy traffic into Ocean County

Southbound delays and pockets of volume on the Garden State Parkway is slowing the evening commute between Wall and Toms River. Expect a 10-mile delay entering Ocean County, according to 511NJ.

Route 9 delays in Monmouth County

As of 6:02 p.m., there are roving repairs on Route 9 North in Howell to Ryan Road/Symmes Drive in Manalapan. The right lane is closed.

Disabled vehicle stuck in southbound express lanes of Parkway in Aberdeen

Just after 6 p.m., there was a report of a disabled vehicle on the Garden State Parkway express lanes (southbound), north of Exit 117 (Route 36) in Aberdeen. The two left lanes are blocked.

Left lane closed on Route 18 North in Colts Neck and Marlboro

511NJ reports there are roving repairs on Route 18 northbound from south of Exit 19 (Route 34) in Colts Neck to south of Exit 29 (Tennent Road) in Marlboro. One left lane of two lanes is closed.

Vehicle fire blocks all southbound Parkway lanes in Middlesex County

About 6:30 p.m., a vehicle fire has blocked all local southbound lanes on the Garden State Parkway in Sayreville in Middlesex County. This major incident is located south of Exit 124.

Right lane closed on Route 88 east in Brick

As of 6:39 p.m., there were roving repairs on Route 88 east from Route 35 in Point Pleasant Beach to Old Squan Road in Brick. The right lane is closed.

Parkway crash in express lanes south of Middletown

As of 7:43 p.m., there is a crash in the northbound Garden State Parkway express lanes, just south of Exit 109 (Route 520) in Tinton Falls. However, all lanes remain open.
