To start earning money, a YouTube channel must join the YouTube Partner Program (YPP). The eligibility requirements at the time of writing include:

At least 500 subscribers.

At least three public videos uploaded in the last 90 days.

Either 3,000 watch hours in the previous 12 months or 3 million Shorts views in the last 90 days.
These are the minimum requirements to access fan-funding features such as Super Chat and channel memberships. Full access to ad revenue may require reaching 1,000 subscribers and 4,000 watch hours, which still applies to many ad formats.
Once approved for the program, the channel can start earning through ads, Premium revenue, memberships, Super Thanks, and other features.
