PORTLAND, Ore. — Former Portland Trail Blazers superstar Damian Lillard is back in Portland for a Tuesday night matchup against his former team.
This is the second game in Portland for Lillard since he was traded to the Milwaukee Bucks in September 2023. This will be the fourth game overall that the Blazers and Bucks have played against each other since the trade.
Last season, the Blazers beat the Bucks, 119-116, on Jan. 31, in Lillard’s first game back in Portland. In that game, Blazers guard Anfernee Simons scored 24 points, Deandre Ayton had a double-double with 20 points and 11 rebounds, and rookie Scoot Henderson had 15 points off the bench to lead the Blazers to the win. Lillard scored 25 points, but missed 14 of his 23 shot attempts, including 10 of 13 from the 3-point line.
The Blazers have won two of the three games between the two teams since the trade. Lillard has mostly struggled against his former team, averaging 24 points but shooting 35.6% from the field and 28.1% from 3.
Lillard, 34, is having a strong season for the Bucks (26-18), who are in fourth place in the Eastern Conference. Lillard is averaging 25.5 points, 7.3 assists and 4.7 rebounds while shooting 45.3% from the field and 38.3% from the 3-point line this season.
This is the Blazers’ only nationally televised game of the season.
