Immortal Rising 2 Transforms Gameplay with Starlight System

Planetarium Labs and Busy Beans Studio have unveiled a transformative update to Immortal Rising 2 (IR2), their Web3-powered RPG. The centerpiece of this update is the introduction of the Starlight system – an innovative in-game currency that completes the game’s economic loop alongside $IMT and ORB.

Planetarium Labs is a pioneering Web3 gaming company that is best known for its community-driven approach and its immersive, moddable gaming experiences. The Planetarium Labs team boasts decades of experience in gaming and blockchain technologies and the company is at the forefront of the Web3 decentralized gaming revolution.

Regarding the Starlight system, it is not just another collectible token. It’s a versatile resource with the potential to enhance every aspect of gameplay. Players can stake Starlight in the new Star Vault, unlocking combat power and health buffs. These buffs scale up as players use Starlight, encouraging long-term strategy and deeper involvement with the game’s ecosystem. The new staking options – spanning 7, 14, and 30-day intervals – give players the flexibility to either reap immediate benefits or work toward long-term growth, creating an entirely new layer of strategic decision-making.

According to Planetarium Labs CEO JC Kim, the latest update deepens player engagement and brings about new levels and opportunities to unlock the utility of $IMT. As such, Mr. Kim said his company is not just building a game but an ecosystem where player choices and strategic decision-making are rewarded.

The update also enhances the interconnectedness of the game’s economy. With the new $IMT to Starlight conversion mechanics, players can seamlessly exchange $IMT for Starlight and vice versa via their linked Immutable Passport accounts. This conversion system is dynamic, with rates influenced by real-time market conditions, ensuring that both individual and global economies remain balanced.

As part of this update, Immortal Rising 2 introduces several new ways to earn Starlight. Players can now accumulate this currency through competitive play, including leaderboard rankings in Arena, Stage, and Scarecrow modes. Additionally, a newly launched Starlight Shop offers players the chance to trade Starlight for Stardust and other valuable in-game items, opening up new avenues for progression.

The impact of these changes extends beyond currency mechanics. This update marks a significant step forward in Immortal Rising 2’s evolution toward a more player-driven, interconnected economy. As Planetarium Labs continues to innovate within the Web3 space, the integration of Starlight and the $IMT conversion system represents a foundational shift in how tokenized economies can function in decentralized games.

Mr. JC Kim also said that what Planetarium Labs is doing with Starlight is laying the groundwork for future game modes and systems that will deepen player engagement. With this game design, the economic layer becomes just the beginning, and what will result is a fully-fledged, player-centric ecosystem where every action counts and has measurable outcomes.

In celebration of the update, Immortal Rising 2 is kicking off two limited-time events: the Star Vault Celebration (April 23 – May 7), which rewards players with bonus Starlight for completing daily and weekly quests, and the Springday Event (April 23 – May 6), a fruit-matching mini-game that offers exclusive rewards in exchange for Springday Coins. Additionally, stage and dungeon progression limits have been expanded, and the Arena Training cap has been raised, giving experienced players even more content to explore.
