Is Carcer City Making a Comeback?
Veteran Rockstar gamers are well aware of Carcer City. This fictional city was first introduced in one of the infamous Rockstar titles, Manhunt. The Manhunt series belongs to the psychological horror genre, where Carcer City is depicted as a decaying, crime-infested metropolis where players are forced to participate in a series of snuff films by killing criminal gang members sent to hunt them on camera.
That’s how Carcer City is portrayed in Rockstar Games’ universe. Originally, it’s part of the Manhunt series, but it has been referenced many times in the GTA games as well. For instance, GTA 4 and have the mention of this decaying city.
For those who are wondering when these occurrences appear, here’s the instances: in GTA 4, players used to access the police database upon entering a police car. In that database, players must have remembered seeing a list of criminals where it was mentioned that a group of these criminals were from Carcer City.
Coming to GTA 5, while going through one of the story missions, named Paleto Score, players must have noticed that Michael De Santa recalls his first score taking place in the outskirts of Carcer City. Again, one arcade game in , Camhedz, has its setting similar to Carcer City.
