Aston Martin’s Billionaire Owner Lawrence Stroll Acquires Monster Superyacht For F1 Season

  • Lawrence Stroll, executive chairman of Aston Martin, is set to take delivery of his new superyacht, Project 714.
  • Project 714, built by Feadship, is 259 feet long and features advanced technology and design.
  • Lawrence Stroll’s previous superyacht, Faith, was a $200 million USD masterpiece.

Billionaires and their superyachts is a love story as old as the sea itself. Tech titans Sergey Brin and Mark Zuckerberg have recently entered the game and now — along with revamping Aston Martin’s F1 team — the executive Chairman of Aston Martin Lawrence Stroll is also upgrading his high seas experience. After selling Faith, his old yacht, to Iranian-Canadian businessman Michael Latifi in 2022, Stroll set out to build something even better.

From Faith to Future

His old yacht, which was 317 feet long and worth $200 million USD (~$322 million AUD), wasn’t exactly lacking — it had a sauna, a basketball court, a gym, and a beach club. It even hosted celebrities like Beyoncé and Jay-Z for exclusive sea travels. But Stroll isn’t the type to settle for “good enough” which is why he decided to get an even better superyacht — Project 714.

Project 714, a New Innovative Masterpiece

At 259 feet, Project 714 is actually smaller than Faith, but what it lacks in length, it makes up for in cutting-edge tech. It is currently under construction at Feadship’s Netherlands facility, and is all about efficiency, innovation, and, of course, ridiculous luxury.

The elegant exterior of the yacht is designed by British studio RWD and Chahan Interior Design created a luxurious interior that is very much over the top. And because performance matters just as much as aesthetics, De Voogt Naval Architects is handling the engineering.

The 2500GT yacht’s steel-and-aluminium build has five decks, a beach club, a swimming pool, and an extended bow big enough for a helipad. It also has a 45-foot beam and 12-foot draught that has modern engineering features, including the Feadship Advanced Electrical Drive (FAED) program’s propulsion system that minimizes drag and maximizes efficiency.

But what makes Project 714 even better is its advanced hydrodynamic efficiency which has been achieved through extensive computational fluid dynamics analysis. The hydrodynamic design is so advanced that it eliminates the need for traditional drive shafts and rudders, replacing them with contra-rotating thrusters. In simple words, this just means smoother sailing, better fuel efficiency, and even more onboard comfort.

The yacht is set for delivery later this year and will likely be another masterpiece in Stroll’s collection of high-performance machines. And if history tells us anything, it’s that this yacht won’t just be for quiet sunset cruises and will be hosting its fair share of extravagant parties because when you’re Lawrence Stroll, lavish and advanced isn’t just a mindset. It’s a way of life.
