Man tased in Albuquerque, tries to run from police in hospital
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Albuquerque police arrested a man for attacking an officer and trying to escape from custody. This stemmed from a report that he was inappropriately touching himself in front of females in a phone store.
On May 16, 2025, officers were responding to the call of the reported misbehavior at the Boost Mobile store on Menaul and San Mateo. The women at the store waiting for officers outside said the man inside was touching his genitals and was forcing them into the back of the store.
When the officer entered the store, they approached the suspect, 39-year-old Tyrone Small. They tried asking him questions, but he refused to speak with them. The officer approached him, and a fight broke out. According to the officer, he was bitten in the shoulder hard enough that it broke skin. They separate, and he pulls out his taser and tells Small to get on the ground. Small doesn’t follow orders and tries to leave, and the officer tases him twice.
