KANSAS CITY, Mo. – One person has life-threatening injuries after a hit-and-run in a Kansas City Costco parking lot on Monday afternoon.
The incident was reported just after 3:45 p.m. at the Costco store off Linwood Boulevard and Gillham Plaza.

Investigations determined that while in the parking lot, the victim and driver of a black Mercedes became involved in a verbal altercation.
Kansas City police said the victim was hanging onto the Mercedes as the driver began to leave the scene. As the Mercedes was driving away, the victim was knocked off the ground and run over by the vehicle.
The suspect driver left the scene without stopping. What led up to the altercation is unclear.
The victim was taken to the hospital and is currently in critical condition. The incident is still under investigation.
