Passenger who died days after surviving a plane crash identified as Mass. man
A passenger who died days after being involved in a plane crash in Beverly last week has been identified as 28-year-old Malden resident Joseph Puciloski, the Essex County District Attorney’s Office said Wednesday.
The plane crash happened on June 19 around 7:45 a.m. near Beverly Regional Airport, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said previously. The plane “experienced engine issues” after taking off and crashed before pilot Geoffrey Andrews could fly it back to the airport, according to an FAA report about the crash.
Andrews — a 30-year-old Melrose resident and MIT aerospace engineer — died in the crash, the district attorney’s office said. Puciloski initially survived the crash and was taken to a hospital, but he later died from his injuries.

The plane —a Mooney M20— came to rest on a roadway next to a utility pole. The district attorney’s office did not speak to Andrews’ and Puciloski’s relationship.
Andrews’ wife is expecting their first child in October, his family said in a statement on Sunday. A GoFundMe campaign is raising money to benefit his wife and unborn child.
The district attorney’s office, the FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board are investigating the crash. No further information has been released.
