People Are Sharing Their Unfiltered Reactions To RFK Jr. Being Confirmed As Health Secretary, And It’s Bleak

President Donald Trump’s nomination of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. for US Health Secretary has officially been confirmed — a move that every Senate Democrat and lone Republican Mitch McConnell opposed. Senator McConnell highlighted RFK Jr.’s history of “trafficking in dangerous conspiracy theories and eroding trust in public health institutions” as his reason for voting against him.

However, President Trump praised RFK Jr. at his swearing-in ceremony, saying, “Bobby is going to lead a great national mission to ‘Make America Healthy Again.’ I think he’s going to do things that will really make us very proud of this day.”

The job of the US Health Secretary is significant, involving monitoring FDA practices, managing Medicaid and Medicare policies, overseeing research and programs at the CDC, and supervising the Native American Health Service to solve epidemic issues.

This is deeply concerning as many of RFK Jr.’s false claims have been non-fact-based and racially biased. In 2023, he shared a conspiracy theory, stating: “COVID-19 is targeted to attack Caucasians and Black people. The people who are most immune are Ashkenazi Jews and Chinese.” In 2024, he advocated for the Trump administration to remove all fluoride proven to protect teeth from cavities and tooth decay — from public water systems. And, in his recent confirmation hearing, he refused to acknowledge that childhood vaccines don’t cause autism.
