Rain totals in some Milwaukee County spots top 10 inches as of early Sunday
The National Weather Service has started posting updated rain totals from the overnight storms and some of the numbers from Milwaukee County are incredible.
As of 8:35 a.m., St. Francis was reporting 10.5 inches, Bayside 9.93 inches and Greenfield 9.19 inches.
Earlier Sunday, at 4 a.m., the weather service posted these estimated totals:
Waukesha and Milwaukee areas: 7 to 10 inches or more; West Bend and Port Washington areas: 4 to 6 inches; Racine area: 1 to 3 inches.
Areas father north, west and south received 1 to 2 inches of rain, including Sheboygan, Fond du Lac, Portage, Madison, Whitewater and Kenosha.
An additional 1 to 2 inches of rain is expected to fall across much of the area, including the Milwaukee metro, into Monday.
