MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man is in the hospital after police said she was shot by his ex-girlfriend late Friday night.
At 11:40 p.m., officers responded to an aggravated assault/DV call at Smokey City Bar-B-Que located in the 1000 block of Jackson Ave.
The victim said he’d gone to the restaurant to pick up some food when he saw his ex-girlfriend inside the restaurant.
He told officers that as he was leaving the restaurant, his ex followed him outside and started firing shots at him.
MPD: Man, squad car struck in downtown gunfire
The victim was struck by the gunfire and was taken to Regional One in critical condition.
The victim’s wife said she was waiting in the car for him to come out, when she saw the suspect (the victim’s ex-girlfriend) shoot two or three times.
