Shreveport Police arrest high school principal on domestic violence, child endangerment charges
The principal of Huntington High School in Shreveport has been arrested following domestic violence and child endangerment charges.
The Shreveport Police Department released details in the arrest Tuesday, Oct. 21.
Shreveport Police was contacted Oct. 20 by Caddo Parish Schools after allegations of domestic violence were made against Nicholaus Smith. According to police, following an investigation, detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Smith for two counts of domestic abuse battery with child endangerment.

Smith turned himself in to the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office with the assistance of the Caddo Parish School Board.
“It’s great to see organizations taking domestic violence seriously as we work to make our community a safer place for all citizens,” Shreveport Police Chief Wayne Smith said.
According to police, this incident occurred during Smith’s personal time and did not take place on school property or during school hours.
