Speedy Dog Living Near Tracks Tries to Outrun Every Train That Passes
Speedy Dog Living Near Tracks Tries to Outrun Every Train That Passes originally appeared on PetHelpful.
Pubity shared a video on TikTok at the beginning of July that has everybody in stitches. It features a dog named Saber who lives near some train tracks. Anytime a train passes, it becomes a challenge for Saber to beat it in a race the train isn’t aware it’s taking part in!
The video is short, just about 8 seconds long, and shows Saber waiting intently for the arriving train to get closer. As soon as the train meets up with Saber, the race is on!
Saber gave that train a run for its money! He was running as fast as he could and you could see the determination on his face. People left hundreds of comments about @Pubity’s video, and some of them cracked us up.
@Rizz Muffin pointed out, “The fact that he waits for it…he wants a fair race! LOL!” @SouthSidePG was impressed, too, “Wow! Saber waited until the train was even with him before he started running. And still kept up!!” Another commenter agreed, “He even waited for the train to catch up and still showed you he can run as fast as a train!”
Commenter @Gunt_Z wondered, “Does bro come back or just run forever?” @Luke25fss responded, “Saber’s been reported missing for 3 days now. Some say he’s still chasing the train.” @Sir Oblivion joked, ‘Tell him Greyhound is buses, not trains.”

How Fast Can Greyhounds Run?
Commenter @AK shared, “He’s a Greyhound – they race and are built for that!” While we’re not entirely sure that Saber is a Greyhound, he sure loves to run like they do!
We all know Greyhounds are fast, but just how fast they are is mind blowing. Rover shared, “While there are many fast dogs in the world, the Greyhound is by far the fastest. Over a distance of 100 meters, male Greyhounds are capable of reaching speeds up to 45 miles per hour, while females can hit 41 MPH.”
“Greyhounds are so fast they leave even famously speedy dog breeds, like the Border Collie and the German Shepherd, in the dust. These powerful working pups achieve speeds closer to 30 mph. And while Greyhounds might be popularly known as sprinters rather than endurance runners, they can still sustain a speed of 35 mph for as much as seven miles.” Wow!
