The Dominican Republic National Police say the parents of missing University of Pittsburgh student Sudiksha Konanki sent them a letter Monday asking them to officially declare her dead. It comes as Joshua Riibe, the Iowa man who was last known to be seen with her, is set to appear in court. NBC’s Jesse Kirsch reports for TODAY from the Dominican Republic.
