Teenager and toddler found dead in CT apartment; both suffered multiple stab wounds

A 19-year-old woman and a two-year-old boy were both found dead Saturday night, and both appeared to have sustained multiple stab wounds, according to the West Haven Police Department.

West Haven police responded to 430 Meloy Road at 8:50 p.m. after “receiving several 911 calls reporting screaming and yelling from the apartment” there.

Callers reported that a “male had jumped through a second-floor glass window and landed on the walkway that leads to the apartment.”

When West Haven police arrived on the scene, authorities found the male had sustained injuries and transported him to an area hospital. Shortly after, police found the 19-year-old and two-year-old dead inside the apartment, both with multiple apparent stab wounds, according to West Haven police.

Police did not name the teen or the toddler.

Police said a suspect to this crime is in police custody and there is no threat to the public. The investigation is still ongoing by the West Haven Police Detective Division, in coordination with the Milford States Attorney’s Office and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
