Trump unveils details of ‘major’ trade deal with United Kingdom
President Trump is set to announce a trade deal with the UK on Thursday, the first for his administration since imposing — then pausing — sweeping “reciprocal” tariffs against all trading partners in early April (watch live above).
“THE FIRST OF MANY!!!” Trump wrote in a Truth Social post late Wednesday. He went on to say that “the agreement with the United Kingdom is a full and comprehensive one” in a Thursday post to the platform.
“Because of our long time history and allegiance together, it is a great honor to have the United Kingdom as our FIRST announcement. Many other deals, which are in serious stages of negotiation, to follow!” he wrote.

The UK faces a universal 10% tariff on its exports to the US, alongside the sectoral 25% levy on steel, aluminum, and autos.
