It would surprise no one that physician is one of the highest paying jobs in Florida. But elevator and escalator installation and repair?
Well, it turns out that knowing how to install and repair elevators and escalators brings very good coin — a median annual salary of $103,403, according to 2024 Florida occupational employment and wage statistics.
The Palm Beach County School Board will hold workshops this fall to discuss expanding the school district’s career and technical training programs, based on the reality that four of 10 graduating seniors in the district don’t go to college and that many high-paying jobs — like elevator and escalator installation and repair —don’t require a college degree.
