Winston-Salem doctor facing new charges of secret peeping after sexual exploitation arrest
ALEXANDER COUNTY, N.C. (WGHP) — A man who worked for the Wake Forest University School of Medicine is facing new charges of secret peeping, according to the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office.
Richard Dean Jordan, 31, was taken into custody on Friday for two counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor in Alexander County.
On Tuesday, the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office revealed that Jordan was charged with seven counts of felony secret peeping. The sheriff’s office reports that the suspect allegedly placed a hidden camera in the bathroom of a family member’s home.
Jordan was identified as a Cytopathology resident at the Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center on the Wake Forest University School of Medicine website. He received his license to practice medicine in 2023 and completed his residency in pathology in 2024 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.
The WFU School of Medicine provided the following statement when asked about Jordan’s charges:
The charges are of deep concern, and we are cooperating with law enforcement in their investigation. Once we were notified by law enforcement, we took immediate action to place him on administrative leave per our policies. At this time, we have no reason to believe any of the alleged activities occurred in any of our facilities. We are unable to comment further due to the ongoing investigation.
Jordan surrendered his medical license on April 10.
